Learn where fractions live between the whole numbers!
A number line is a straight line with numbers placed at equal gaps along it.
We can put fractions in the spaces between whole numbers!
For example, 12 goes exactly halfway between 0 and 1.
To show halves, we split each section into 2 equal parts.
12 is the orange dot — halfway between 0 and 1.
To show quarters, we split each section into 4 equal parts.
Notice: 24 is at the same spot as 12 — they're equivalent fractions! 🤯
